Industry - Design Development: Unit 8

During this unit, I had a two-week window to devise a final outcome based on a quote or short text related to the environment. After careful consideration, I selected a verse from the song "Rain on Me" by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, drawn to its reflection on how weather can impact one's mood—an aspect I aimed to include in my final outcome.

My project took the form of a leaflet, intended to explain how the weather affects your mood. While I felt moderately satisfied with the outcome, having successfully curated a fitting colour scheme and incorporating segments of my chosen text onto the front page, there were aspects that left me wanting. Notably, the printed colors did not quite capture the desired pastel effect that I had on Illustrator, diverting from the aesthetic I had envisioned. I feel my final outcome was too basic, however, given the two-week timeframe and my emphasis on documenting the developmental process, I refrained from dwelling on what I could have done. Instead, I regarded it as a stepping stone in my creative journey, fostering a resolve to refine and enhance future endeavors.

I feel my planning was quite successful as I had created a project schedule outlining the things I needed to achieve within a specific time frame. Due to creating a project schedule, I was able to outline what things I needed to achieve thus being able to produce developmental work much quicker this time around.

The knowledge and skills I have achieved during this project is being able to scale shapes equally on Illustrator which was something that was vital for my leaflet as it was important for me to make sure my leaflet was aesthetically pleasing. This is a skill I will definitely be using for future projects.
